Symbol sport: Rifle shooting
The Hitachi Information Systems women’s rifle team started out as Japan’s first company team in October 1989, and has achieved great things in participating in four major competitions consecutively in the Olympics since then.
The reason why Hitachi Information Systems has made rifle shooting a symbol sport is the characteristics it has in common with the business.
Rifle shooting demands a high moral sense from its practitioners. It is also an industry where high moral sensitivity is required of employees as they handle the sort of information for the company and for individuals that may be as vital as life itself.
Hitachi Information Systems thus aims to assist in promoting rifle events, as well as making a clear statement to those outside the company about the directions the company aims to move in.
We also host a company-wide beam rifle shooting event every year. This is a venue for promoting an understanding of rifle shooting and communicating with employees and their families.
