The Hitachi Information Systems Systems environmental policy was revised in June of 2006. One of the stated goals of this policy is to promote the establishment of an environmentally friendly information services and staffing business. Through taking advantage of our core information services business, promoting green procurement and paper recycling activities, and participating in efforts such as “Team Minus 6%,” we are implementing a variety of environmentally friendly approaches at each of our work sites.
An Environmentally Friendly Information Services Business
At Hitachi Information Systems, we aim to assist in a variety of environmental conservation efforts through offering environmentally friendly products and services.

Appearances at Exhibitions
We are proactive in our efforts to cooperate with and appear at exhibitions designed to raise the public's consciousness with regards to environmental issues, both by showcasing our products and systems and by interacting with the public.
|
Green Procurement
In 1998, we became members of the Green Purchasing Network. We ask for the cooperation of all of our suppliers in keeping with their Green Procurement Guidelines.

Advancing Towards a Paperless Office
In order to promote the smooth operation of our business and also to reduce paper-related costs, we are taking advantage of the Internet and e-mail as communications tools within the company, and offering these same communication methods to our clients in the government and in other industries with which we do business.

Hitachi Information Systems Recycled Paper
Waste paper from corporate documents is being recycled as “Hitachi Information Systems Recycled Paper” and re-used in a variety of forms.

|
Participation in Team Minus 6%
Our participation in the government-supported nationwide project “Team Minus 6%,” has allowed us to advance our efforts to a higher level.
|
A High-Security Paper Recycling System
We recycle all business documents by using a wet-type AS shredding system. The resulting pulp is then processed by a recycling system outside of our company, allowing us to support efforts to create a recycling oriented society.
